When we founded Utima, we didn’t aim to build a massive software house. We simply wanted to work on interesting things with smart people and create software we could be proud of. Today, after two years, we’ve surpassed 10 million CZK in revenue — but more importantly, we have a strong team, meaningful products, and partnerships that go beyond contracts.
We’re not big on formal celebrations. Offices full of balloons, corporate speeches, back-patting, and partying until blackout aren’t really our thing. Our style is different. We celebrated our anniversary with a BBQ at our home. With clients, partners, colleagues, and their loved ones. No formalities — just openness and authenticity. Because those values are at the core of Utima’s DNA.
Year two taught us many things. The one that resonates the most is: Less is more.

What makes us happiest is seeing people around us grow. Vašek is the best example of that. We met when he was working in customer support at Czech Airlines. At that time, he knew nothing about software development. Together with our partners at CodeBiters, we helped him learn the basics of QA.
Today he:
For us, this is a story close to the heart. Not because one person matters more than others — but because it shows that if you’re willing to grow and have supportive people around you, you can transition into a completely new field.
Year #2 was also the year something new was born: Kanbu.ai.
What started as repeated B2B requests for an AI chatbot — which we initially addressed by recommending existing solutions — evolved into a standalone product team, brand, business model, and client base.
Kanbu.ai has proven itself in the market, and now a new big challenge lies ahead: scaling. More on that soon.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. We’re excited to see what year three will bring.
