How We Started and Where We’re Heading: The Story of Utima

It all began at the start of 2023. It was a time when a group of software development experts — friends with strong bonds and a shared ambition — decided to create something unique. After stable and well-paid jobs, we stepped into freelancing with modest conditions. The photo above was taken at the Moravian Library in Brno, where Jakub (Founder & CEO) worked — and where Utima began to take shape.

Our original goal wasn’t to start a company, but to deliver high-quality work and build meaningful projects where fair and equal collaboration would become the foundation of everything we do. What mattered from the very beginning — and still does — was pulling in the same direction, whether working with our clients or among ourselves as freelancers at the time.

Today, we are a software agency made up of professionals with more than 10 years of experience. We specialize in building custom web and mobile SaaS applications and AI solutions for startups. But we don’t stop there — we invest in projects through ESOP models and create generic open-source architecture. Our focus spans across AI, web3, gaming, and the construction industry. In our first year on the market, we took on many new challenges and achieved significant milestones.

Our Vision

Our vision is to become a leading autonomous agency for custom SaaS development focused on startups. We aim to deliver software consistently, with high quality, and much faster than the competition — thanks to our open-source architectural core. Our long-term goal is to become a startup incubator for our own mutually complementary SaaS products — not only a supplier, but also an investor in these solutions.

We love building unique and modern web and mobile applications that are simple, original, and economically accessible. Our work covers the entire development process: from idea and research, through design, programming, and testing, to long-term support. We carefully select each project, always with a bold and innovative mindset, and deliver solutions in an efficient and controlled manner.
